Respond Support

Last updated: August 19, 2026

Respond is the stationOS dispatch app for fire and EMS responders. It pages you when your department is dispatched, shows you the call, and tells the crew you are on your way.

Accounts are issued by your department, not created in the app. If you are a member trying to sign in for the first time, your department administrator is the fastest route.

Email hello@stationos.io.

If you are writing about a call that went wrong — a page that never arrived, a drive that was not recorded — tell us the date, roughly the time, and your department. That is usually enough for us to find it.

First things to check

You are not getting paged.

  1. Open Respond and check that you are signed in and on the right station.
  2. In Settings → Alerting, confirm the alert types you expect are on.
  3. Check your phone’s own notification settings for Respond, and that Respond is allowed to notify you.
  4. If you use a Focus mode or silent mode, confirm Respond is permitted to break through it. Respond uses one alert stage that is allowed to pierce silent mode, by design — everything else respects your phone’s settings.
  5. Confirm your phone is not restricting Respond in the background.

If all of that looks right and pages are still not arriving, email us. A page that never arrives is the most serious thing this app can do wrong, and we treat it that way.

Your drive was not recorded.

Live location is shared only while you are actively responding to a call, and it stops on its own when you arrive, when you stand down, or after twenty minutes. It requires location access; on iPhone that means Always, and on Android it means allowing background location. If you granted location only while using the app, the drive will not record once your screen is off.

You answered but the board does not show it.

Responses queue on the phone when you have no signal and send themselves when signal returns, stamped with the time you actually tapped rather than the time they arrived. If you answered in a dead spot, give it until you are back in coverage.

Alert tones.

Tones are chosen per member in Settings → Alerting. Changing yours does not change anyone else’s.

Apple Watch, CarPlay and Garmin

Respond runs on Apple Watch and in CarPlay, and pairs with supported Garmin watches. These are companions to the phone app: the phone must be signed in and reachable for them to page you.

Your data

Location is recorded only during an active response, and heart rate read on a paired watch stays on your own devices and is never transmitted.

For departments

If you are a chief or administrator looking at Respond for your department, or you need to add, remove or re-issue member accounts, email hello@stationos.io.
